A letter to someone from my childhood.

Dear Jessica,

My goodness, how our lives have gone in different directions. We still live in the same town but we might as well live on separate continents. I was sorry to hear that things didn't work out with him, but then I also hear from my mom what you're up to (since our mothers are still dear friends) and I kind of wonder what goes through your head these days. At any rate, we had good times as kids. I hope you find your way back and remember those days once again.

God bless,
Felicia

A letter to an internet friend,

Dear Belen,

You are such a sweet girl. I'm so happy I stumbled across your blog. Your handwriting and your smile are both beautiful and I love seeing them. Let's keep in touch for always, k?

Confession time.

I hate Halloween.

Loathe it.

I think it's the stupidest "holiday" ever. What's the point? - dress up in costumes and eat candy from strangers. I'd rather stay at home in my sweats and buy my own chocolate to eat.

I think it's stupid when youth groups have alternative event things. I mean, it's not bad if your church does that. My church does that for the little kids. I just think it's stupid. Why are you even acknowledging it?

I guess my ideas about Halloween come from my parents, who did not dress us up and take us trick-er-treating once. I also remember listening to the Adventures in Odyssey episode about Halloween when I was a kid. And I honestly don't care to celebrate it.

Sorry if this rant post doesn't make any sense to you. But Halloween doesn't make any sense to me.

[I don't mean to offend anyone who happens to celebrate Halloween. It's just my opinion and you are welcome to yours and I don't think any less of you. I just think the whole holiday is stupid and pointless. Like Uggs with mini-skirts. Or Justin Bieber.]

A letter to the person I want to tell everything to, but am afraid to.

Dear boyfriend,

At this point in our relationship, I'm finding that I need to share with you more and more the deep things in myself. I am more than happy to tell you the happy secrets. But there are some ugly things as well, things I can't even really handle, and I don't want to tell you these things. You keep telling me you want to know my heart, and I want you to know it better than I do... but at the same time, these terrible things that I loathe about myself, about my feelings, about my heart, and about my past... do you want to know them too? I'm scared. I know by now I have nothing to worry about... But if I don't like these parts and I don't even want to know them about myself, why would you?

Pray that I'll get over this. Because I need to tell someone, and I want it to be you.

Yours forever,
Felicia

A letter to someone I’ve drifted away from.

Dear Candida,

When I see you at church with your 2 daughters, I wish we still talked. They are beautiful and I just want to cuddle them while I talk to you about life. It's sad how it went, when you got engaged and I wanted to go to school, and we just started moving in opposite directions. But I'm almost done school, and I am in a relationship now, and I wish that maybe our lives would drift closer to one another. If that happens, I promise I'll throw out a rope and we'll see what happens. I remember our times when we used to laugh and share our hearts and be absolutely ridiculous and wear mis-matching socks together. I hope you remember these times as fondly as I do.

Your friend,
Felicia

A letter to someone I know that is going through the worst of times

Dearest Mama T,

When you told me your mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, I wanted to cry. I'm sorry that I don't always know the right thing to say when you talk about it. I wish I did. I hope that my shoulder and ears will be enough. I love you, and I have Kleenex in my purse these days. So let'er rip.

Love always and forever,
Your Feebee

Monday ramblings.

No mail this week. In or out. :(

I just finished working out with my friend Tiff. Oy. I'm out of shape.

I'm thinking about having a blog giveaway one of these days. Maybe people will actually be motivated to comment then :P

I have soooo much freaken homework it's ridiculous. I have a paper due tomorrow, an exam the next day, and then another paper due on Friday. I just realized that in one of my classes, I'll have a paper due every week for a while. Crazy. Then all my huge papers are due on the same week, pretty much. So I gotta get cracking or something. Sadly, that means my social life/leisure time is out the door. Nice knowing you, sleep.

Fill in the Blank 1.2

1.   Blogging is something that I wish I had more time for.

2.  A current fashion trend I wish I was brave enough to wear is shirt dresses and leggings. I've got too much curve for that.

3.  My greatest accomplishment in life thus far is  sticking through school, even when I wanted to give up last year.

4.  If I had to choose between a mountain or a beach vacation I'd choose  beach vacation because I loooove being by water, and I feel claustrophobic being around mountains too long (what can I say, I'm from the prairies!)

5.  A talent I wish I had is  being able to play piano.

6.  A talent I do have is   baking marvelous chocolate chip cookies.

7.  This week   isn't long enough to do everything I need to.

A letter to my ex-crush

Dear ex-crush,

Thank God I gave you up. Not that there's anything wrong with you... Okay just the fact that you're exactly what I don't want. Praise the Lord that He brought exactly what I wanted into the picture to wake me up. God sure had other plans for me and for you. I think you're a good guy anyway. You have good taste in music. I hope you're treating your girlfriend as good as she deserves. She's fun.

Take care.

Reply to Iwona. Kinda went sticker crazy...

Reply for Julia

For my dear friend Callie

A teacher from British Columbia contacted me on the Postcrossing website. She is collecting cards from across Canada for her class, so I was more than happy to participate. I sent these two to her.

For Bianca.

For Belen

Some postcrossing cards. I like the one with the duck. It was kinda hard to let go of that one.

Long overdue reply for Mikaela.

Bonus mail-related picture::

My unbelievably sweet boyfriend carved a wax stamper for me out of a rock! I don't know how well you can see that but it's super cute! I just dripped some melted wax from a candle on the envelope, but as you can see it was kind of messy, so I'm going to buy some wax sticks that are used with a glue gun (as seen here).

I'm actually impressed with how much I've actually caught up in the past couple weeks. Since I ordained Sunday a "no-homework day," I feel more motivated during the week to get my projects done. So I feel really good about taking a day off. And right now I will go watch a movie and write some more of those letters.
